Human Rights and Discrimination
Human rights laws prohibit discrimination and harassment at the workplace based on certain characteristics, including race, color, ancestry, religion, place of origin, ethnic origin, citizenship, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity), sexual orientation, sexual identity and expression, age, marital status, family status, disability, and receipt of public assistance.
At Lee Workplace Law, we offer depth in our experience, whether it is prosecuting human rights complaints for individuals, or defending such complaints for employers. We litigate with a clear strategy, at every stage aiming for the most value-add and chance at optimal resolution. Clients are at all times involved, informed, and engaged.
In addition, for employers, we are proactive in our approach, minimizing exposure to human rights litigation as much as possible. Our services include,
- preparing anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policies that are tailored and suitable for your workplace;
- delivering customized and interactive workplace training on anti-discrimination, anti-harassment, and other workplace topics; and
- advising on individual cases where concerns do arise to minimize litigation risk.
